If you are a woman over 40 and feel that you can't land a job despite your experience and qualifications, or you suddenly find yourself feeling ignored or dismissed, this podcast is for you.
Although the scourge of ageism is all too real in many workplaces, Nori Jabba, author of Keeping Your Seat at the Table, a Memoir and Guide on Regaining Confidence in Middle-age explains how women can learn to leverage their age and experience in their favour.
Nori is a community development professional, author, speaker, and coach on leadership, professional development, ageism and women's empowerment. Her career includes experience in corporate real estate, community development and affordable housing. But when she decided to look for employed work again after years of consulting, she realised that she had lost her seat at the table when no one would hire her, despite relevant experience and qualifications.
After multiple disappointments, she abandoned her job search and opted for research and perspective to better understand why job hunting is so challenging for middle-aged women. Keeping Your Seat at the Table grew out of that experience, a part-memoir and part-guide on how women can combat ageism and continue with their careers.
