Let's thank our lucky stars for collegiate sports. In these otherwise unpleasant times, Americans have one thing to look forward to: March Madness.
Now I admit that I know nothing about college basketball, nor do I care to learn, but I remember from my time working in America that the euphoria extended from the court, to college campuses, to the office place as everyone and their mother filled out a bracket.
It's the time of the seasons when a young man's thoughts turn to fancy and everyone tries to win some easy money in the office pool. It's a good thing too, as its some innocuous fun that helps people blow off a little steam and forget about everything else. I never personally got into all the excitement as my university hasn't assembled a decent basketball team in over 20 years.
Good luck to all of this year's participants (the real tournament and in office pools); be sure not to forget about getting some work done over the course of the next few weeks. One more things, fellas, you'd better hope that the economy picks up otherwise there may be less money for university sports or scholarships to bring some players on board.
