Salary secrets

Nearly nine out of 10 UK adults keep their salary a secret from friends, with two-thirds not even telling family members, according to an article in The Guardian newspaper.

Research from Scottish Widows found that 86 percent of people do not disclose how much they earn to their peers, while 67 percent also keep their family in the dark. Extraordinarily, one third of respondents said they did not know exactly how much their partner earns, while 5 percent of couples were unable to give even a rough figure.

Well, one thing's for sure. Living in blissful ignorance, it's far easier to nip out and by some new designer shoes or that new gadget you want - but could never convince the other half you really need!
