If you haven't discovered our Working Week podcasts yet, now is a good time to start. This week our host and columnist, Wayne Turmel, is joined from India by author Chetan Dhruve to discuss his contentious theory that workplaces are unwittingly designed to produce fear - that all bosses are, by definition, programmed to be dictators.
Chetan has also penned an article for us on the same subject Why fear rules the workplace. It's thought-provoking stuff.
All of which, in turn, has set Wayne off on a quest to devise his own theory of leadership. This, in a nutshell, states: Leaders don't necessarily lead; leaders aren't necessarily Leaders; Leadership sometimes shows leadership but sometimes doesn't and there isn't a lot you can say or do; and leadership doesn't only reside in the Leadership.
Simple, isn't it!
